Why we built a no-commission service platform
The service platform industry has a structural problem that has existed since the first marketplace launched. We built CoYoTrade because we believe the problem is solvable — and because the people doing the actual work deserve a better deal.
The commission model creates a platform whose financial interests are fundamentally misaligned with the providers it claims to serve. The platform earns more when you do more work. It has no incentive to help you earn more per job — only to maximise the number of jobs flowing through its system.
The problem we kept seeing
Service providers across Australia — tradies, cleaners, pet carers, designers, childcare workers — were working harder and earning less because an increasing percentage of their income was being paid to platforms as commission. The platforms were growing. The providers were not. The people doing the physical work, developing the expertise, building the client relationships — they were the least well-served by the industry they were central to.
The bidding model made it worse. When providers compete on price, the only way to win is to charge less. Platforms benefit from this — more competition means more providers, more jobs, more commission. Providers suffer from it — lower rates, thinner margins, work that does not reflect the value of their skill.
What we built instead
CoYoTrade separates the directory function from the transaction. We charge a flat membership. We take nothing from your jobs. Our revenue does not grow when you do more work — it grows when more providers find the platform valuable enough to stay. That alignment is intentional. Our incentive is to make CoYoTrade genuinely useful, not to maximise transaction volume.
We also built the infrastructure that makes service businesses run better — GPS tracking on on-site jobs, auto-status updates so clients always know what is happening, instant and scheduled payouts, and verified provider badges that give customers the confidence to book without the platform needing to be the middleman in the transaction. Here is the full comparison of how CoYoTrade differs from every other directory.
Why now
AI search is changing how customers find service providers faster than most people realise. The platforms that will survive are the ones with clean, structured, verified data that AI agents can read and recommend. CoYoTrade is built for that future from the ground up — not retrofitting old commission infrastructure to a world that has moved on. Here is what that means for service providers in 2026.
